What is HAVAYEDA TEVA?
Havayeda Teva are interactive science centers spread all around Israel. We encourage our visitors to touch, operate and play with exhibits and by doing so to actively investigate scientific phenomena. Our basic assumption is that children are naturally curious about their surroundings and learn best by active experimentation.
The word HAVAYEDA is a fusion of two Hebrew words - HAVAYA (a fun experience) and YEDA (knowledge). The name manifests the main objective of the center - to create an informal, pleasant and enjoyable learning environment that allures children to the magical world of science.
Activities at Havayeda Teva provide an initial exposure to scientific phenomena which the children meet in their everyday life. The exhibits are simple to operate and allow a positive and encouraging experience.
Havayeda Teva offers visitors a variety of learning opportunities:

HAVAYEDA TEVA and PERACH
Havayeda Teva centers were founded and are operated by the PERACH tutoring and mentoring organization, an NGO which is dedicated to the advancement of disadvantaged children throughout Israel. On May 8th 2008, Israel's 60th Independence Day, Perach was awarded the most prestigious prize in the country - the Israel Prize -for a lifetime contribution to the state and society.
Havayeda Teva centers offer an appealing exposure to science to publics, who due to geographical and/or socio-economic obstacles are hindered from participation in the services offered by bigger science museums. The centers are located mostly in peripheral towns and under-resourced neighborhoods throughout Israel.
Currently, Perach operates nine Havayeda centers in: YERUCHAM, BEER SHEVA, RAHAT, KIRYAT GAT, REHOVOT, HOLON, BAT YAM and KARMIEL, as well as a MOBILE unit in the north.
In the past few years Havayeda Teva centers have benefited from an enduring collaboration with TEVA Pharmaceutical Company.
Our RAHAT, KARMIEL and the MOBILE Havayeda Teva centers are completely bi-lingual in Hebrew and Arabic. Guidance in the English language is available at all our centers by early appointment.
